It appears that the downward correction in the platinum market has finally ended. Nonetheless, platinum remains significantly below the price of gold. The covid pandemic greatly disrupted platinum mining operations. This was especially true in South Africa, the world's 1 source for newly mined platinum. With mining stalled, the global platinum market entered a supply deficit.

In other words, demand for platinum is exceeding the available supply of the precious metal. Markets will also keep a close eye on developments in the automobile industry. The ongoing shift toward electric vehicles EVs will undoubtedly have an impact on platinum and palladium in the coming years.

Yet it may not all be bad news: platinum has shown potential as a catalyst for emerging fuel cell technologies. So any major growth in EV usage and renewable energy technology could still benefit platinum down the road.

With platinum prices recovering but still historically low, it's an excellent time to add this alternative precious metal to your investment portfolio. Follow the links below if you're ready to get started.

I found a place close by called Mittler Supply. They've got locations in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. The guy seems nice and easy going on the phone, not condescending like some of the places. Has anyone dealt with this place?

Good job, and good luck with Mittler, they have a good rep in the industry. Thomas Harris. I bought the "M" size tank and it's gonna last forever! I had a 20cu. One thing about owning the tank is you can sell it with the welder if you desire. When I bought my MM used, the guy sold an "m" size tank with it. This made selling my crappo Craftsman welder real easy cause my extra tank had good value. I believe a refill on my cu.

If that time ever comes I also have a small 20cu. That way you have a spare if you run out and cannot get to the supplier right away. It also leaves the option of straight argon in one, in case you're feeling lucky I had refilled the 20cu. The costs half as much as the 20 per cu. But then, I had to purchase a new cylinder too. All the quotes I got from Purity Gas seemed straight foward and reasonable.

The purchased cylinders were sold full. No extra charge for the gas. Usually they just swap out the empties for full a one.

I don't quite understand what this means in terms of "tank ownership" and would welcome any explanation if someone has it. I still have my original "M" size tank so it's the same one I bought. Probably cancels out the fact that user does not need to worry about certification and testing of the the empties? Last edited by Thomas Harris ; , AM. Swapping of customer owned tanks is the norm in Las Vegas.

If you bring in a rental tank to the store you rented it from you get back a rental tank. If you bring in an owned tank, you leave with an owned tank. Personally, I don't like it, and I'm going to see if anybody here fills my tanks. Take it from someone who lived in South Plainfield this is totally false.

I lived in SP from until There were never any cancer scares or water problems. Lots of towns in and around Middlesex and Somerset county are good places for your first home purchase because of the many "starter" homes available. Because many of these towns are withing a reasonable commute if any commute in NJ can be considered reasonable of NYC young buyers can get their first taste in home ownership without breaking the bank.

Absolutely no reason for your first home to be your "dream home". Believe what you will. I lived through it and it's absolutely true. For example, in , NJ had the highest rate of cancer in the U. Everything downstream of Manville. Toms River was also bad, if I recall correctly. Piscataway is a huge town and the cheap areas such as Arbor are miles away from the Raritan River and it's watershed. I might have concerns if I was on a well over by the Dow Chemical plant over by the river or something. Please register to post and access all features of our very popular forum.
